The Fall Salmon Derby Has Been Postponed to 2022
Update Sept. 2, 2021 – We are disappointed to announce that we have decided to postpone the 2021 Salmon Derby. This event was always more than fishing; we had planned an epic after party including a live auction, a whisky wall, catered dinner, live music, and more. Unfortunately, keeping in mind the health and wellness of our community, we are just not able to safely hold the event the way we intended.
If you have already registered for the derby, look for an email giving you the option to receive a refund or donate a portion of your entry fee to feed Columbia County. We appreciate the support of both the fishing community and everyone who had registered for this event. With postponing the event, it gives us more time to make the event even more impressive in 2022. Please save the date* for our 2022 Salmon Derby, September 24, 2022
*Date subject to change based on ODFW regulations. We will confirm the date in summer 2022.
We’re trying something new this fall!
We are sending you out to hook fish to help us feed the hungry.
Hooking For Hunger is a fun, family-friendly, fishing derby. Fish for Chinook and Coho in the beautiful Columbia River. Then the event moves to the Columbia County Fairgrounds. There will be cash prizes, a raffle, a silent auction, music, dinner catered by Sunshine Pizza, and more at the after-party.
All proceeds go to support the Food Bank’s effort to end food insecurity in Columbia County. Plus, anglers will have the option to donate some or all of their catch to the Food Bank.
