The Columbia Pacific Food Bank, Salmon Sturgeon Derby fundraiser is September 10, 2022!

Hooking For Hunger Sturgeon Derby

Due to the closure of the Columbia River for all salmon angling below Bonneville Dam, we are forced to transition to a Sturgeon Derby. Luckily, September 10th is a retention day! The event will remain the same with small changes in the rules to accommodate the current regulations for retention of sturgeon. As a disclaimer, we do plan to transition back to a salmon derby if the river is reopened for salmon fishing at the Columbia River Compact meeting this Thursday.

Hooking For Hunger is a fun, family-friendly, fishing derby. Fish for ancient sturgeon in the beautiful Columbia River. Then the event moves to the Buccini Hall. There will be cash prizes, a raffle, a silent auction, music, dinner catered by Ixtapa, live music by Cloud Shine and more at the after-party.

All proceeds go to support the Food Bank’s effort to end food insecurity in Columbia County. Plus, anglers will have the option to donate some or all of their catch to the Food Bank.

Silent auction, raffle, and fun to follow
Biggest Fish $1000
2nd place $500
3rd place $100
