Pat Brame, Potter

Pat hand-made all of the items we are selling for our Empty Bowls fundraiser.

Pat has retired from 38 years in teaching, mainly in Oregon and mostly pottery after moving to St. Helens, Oregon in 1980. Over the years, St. Helens’ pottery program thrived. Pat and his students have participated in the Oregon Potters Assn. Showcase held in Portland, as well as supporting The Oregon Food Bank’s Portland Blues Festival fundraiser, Vancouver SHARE’s Soup’s On, and our own Columbia Pacific Food Bank empty bowls effort.

In retirement, Brame continues to be an active potter with his own home studio and still helps at the high school and teaching small classes in his home facility two nights a week. His work is predominately stoneware; dinner-ware pieces are microwaveable and dishwasher-safe. His motifs include some flora and fauna found in the northwest and a few pirate pieces for some of the shows he attends at the coast.
